Application Fee

Candidates applying for the Maharashtra Waqf Board Recruitment 2023 are required to pay an application fee of Rs. 1000/- for all candidates. The fee can be paid online through various payment modes.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Age Limit: Minimum age 18 years, Maximum age 38 years (as of 1st July 2023)
  2. Religious Affiliation :The applicant must belong to the Muslim community.
  3. Language Proficiency:The applicant must have proficiency in the Urdu language, including reading, writing, and speaking skills.
(Note: Employees currently working in the Maharashtra State Wakf Board can apply, and their maximum age limit is 48 years.)

Qualification 

  1. District Waqf Officer: Degree (at least Second Class Pass) in any discipline from a Statutory University.
  1. Junior Clerk: Degree (at least Second Class Pass) in any discipline from a Statutory University. Marathi typing 30 words per minute or English typing 40 words per minute.
  1. Stenographer: At least Secondary School Pass Certificate. Government Commercial Certificate in Marathi or English Shorthand with a speed not less than 100 words per minute and Government Commercial Certificate in Marathi Typing with a speed limit of at least 30 words per minute or English Typing with a speed limit of at least 40 words per minute.
  1. Legal Assistant: Degree in Law from a Statutory University. Experience: Hon. At least three years of legal experience in High Court or Lower Court OR the candidate should have worked or worked as a Legal Assistant in the Law and Justice Department of the Government of Maharashtra.

Selection Process

The recruitment process includes the following stages:

  1. Online/Written Examination: Candidates will be assessed on their knowledge, aptitude, and reasoning skills.
  1. Document Verification: Successful candidates from the interview will undergo document verification to confirm their eligibility and authenticity.


Mr. Wajahat Mirza, Chairman and MLC of the Maharashtra State Board of Waqf, expressed, "This is the first recruitment drive by the board. It reflects the board’s commitment to strengthening its workforce and enhancing its operational capabilities to serve the community better." 

Mr. M.B. Tashildar, CEO of the board, stated, "It’s a historic move. The exercise marks a direct hiring process for the district waqf officers and other employees. The board has partnered with the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection to facilitate the recruitment." He also mentioned that selected candidates would undergo comprehensive training in various government institutes to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively fulfill their roles. On completion of the training, they will be posted across the state.
