Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) has announced the extension of the admission deadline for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses until July 31. The decision comes in response to the State Government's directive to commence the academic year 2023-24 on July 1 instead of the previously scheduled date of June 15.
Flexibility for Students: Revised Admission Deadline
Initially, the admission process for UG and PG courses had begun in the third week of June, with the closing date set for the end of June. However, due to the government's revised academic calendar, the last date for admission was previously extended to July 20.
Colleges Granted Second Extension: Admissions Open until July 31
Responding to requests from some colleges, the university administration has granted a second extension, now setting the final deadline for July 31. This move aims to accommodate students who may have faced challenges in completing their admissions within the earlier timeframes.
Affiliated Colleges Deadline: Submission of Eligibility Details
Additionally, Bamu has set a deadline for affiliated colleges to submit the eligibility details of admitted students. These eligibility documents must be submitted on or before August 10. The university emphasizes that no further extension will be granted beyond this date, urging colleges to comply promptly to avoid any disruptions in the admission process.
Diverse Range of Courses: Opportunity for Aspiring Students
Bamu oversees 375 UG colleges, offering a variety of traditional and professional courses such as B.A., B.Com, B.Sc, BCA, BCS, BSW, and BBA. The combined intake capacity of these colleges amounts to approximately 3 lakh students. Furthermore, within the jurisdiction of Bamu, there are nearly 100 PG colleges offering programs in Science, Arts, Commerce, and Social Sciences, with a total intake of approximately 75,000 students. The university assures that classes in these colleges and departments will begin as per the well-planned academic calendar for the current academic year. While the admission process for PG departments at the university is nearing completion, specialized institutions such as Engineering, Pharmacy, Law, and Fine Art colleges fill their seats through the Common Entrance Tests conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell (SCETC).
