Bamu Extends PG Admissions Registration Deadline


Online registration until June 26

Aurangabad: Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) has announced an extension of the online registration date for postgraduate courses in its departments. The Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Pramod Yeole, has extended the registration deadline to June 26 for the academic year 2023-24. The registration process for PG courses at the city and Osmanabad campuses began on June 5, with the initial deadline set for June 15.

A 22-member admission committee formed

The university comprises 45 departments on the city campus and 10 departments at the Osmanabad sub-centre. To oversee the admissions, a 22-member admission committee has been formed, which includes Pro-VC Dr. Shyam Shirsath, four deans, Registrar Dr. Bhagwan Sakhle, and Capt Dr. Suresh Gaikwad, the president of the admission committee.

Provisional list on June 30, spot admission round on July 17.

According to the revised schedule, the provisional list of selected candidates will be displayed on June 30, followed by the release of the final list on July 1. The spot admission round for any remaining vacant seats will be conducted on July 17. Classes in the PG departments are scheduled to commence on July 26. Detailed information regarding subjects, available seats, reservations, fees, and eligibility criteria is available on Bamu's official portal.

Dr. Pramod Yeole, the Vice-Chancellor, mentioned that the university is implementing the New Education Policy (NEP) starting from the current academic year. He added, "The classes for second-year PG students have already begun, while the newly admitted candidates will commence their classes on July 26. The administration is striving to ensure timely completion of teaching, examinations, and result declaration."

Wide range of courses offered

A wide range of PG courses is available for admissions at Bamu. The city campus offers MA programs in Marathi, Hindi, Urdu, Pali and Buddhism, Sanskrit, Women's Studies, Political Science, Sociology, Public Administration, History, Geography, Foreign Languages, Psychology, Lifelong Learning and Extension. Additionally, MSc programs are available in Material Science, Zoology, Electronics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Statistics, Mathematics, Environment, Computer Science, Information Technology, and Nano Technology. The campus also offers M Tech and B Tech programs in Chemical Engineering, B Voc/M Voc programs in Industrial Automation and Automobile Technology, MBA, MCA, Printing Technology, LLM, M Com, MIB, MFA, MA (MCJ), M Ed, MPEd, and M Lib.

Osmanabad sub-campus offers additional programs.

At the Osmanabad Sub-campus, the courses being offered include MSc programs in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Materials Science, Mathematics, Water and Land Management, MBA, MA in English, MPA, and M Ed.
