Mysterious Thunderous Sound Again Rocks Paithan City

Residents of Paithan city and its surrounding areas were once again jolted by a loud thunderous sound on Tuesday afternoon. This marks the 33rd time in eight years that the area has been hit by such a deep rumble, leaving citizens fearing for their safety.

The source of the mysterious sound remains unknown, despite efforts by Indian geoscientists to uncover its origins. The sound is not recorded on seismometers, adding to the mystery of its cause.

The latest occurrence, which happened at 1:47 pm on Tuesday, was so intense that the walls of many houses shook, and the roofs and window panes vibrated. The tremors also caused the mud walls of some houses to collapse. The frequency and intensity of the sound have been increasing, causing anxiety among residents.

Paithan city experiences such tremors only between February and May, and given the presence of a large capacity dam like Jayakwadi in the area, residents are left worried and sleepless due to the uncertainty surrounding the cause of the sound.

Despite the district administration's silence on the matter, geoscientists from the Indian Geoscientific Survey Department visited the area in 2015 to investigate the underground noise. However, their investigation failed to provide any concrete conclusions.

The scientists did note that there is no connection between the sound and any underground movement based on the records of seismometers in Paithan and Nagpur. However, the cause of the mysterious sound remains unknown, leaving residents concerned about their safety.

The lack of information and increasing frequency of the sound continue to leave citizens of Paithan city and surrounding areas in a state of fear and uncertainty.
