A group of 15 amateur trekkers successfully reached the base camp of Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world, located at around 17,500 feet above sea level. The group included people above the age of 50 and was guided by Rafiq Shaikh, the first policeman from the state to climb Mt. Everest in 2016.
The trekkers came from different professions such as industries, finance, and health, and they had been practicing for months before the trip. The hill range near City was an ideal location for their trekking practice.
The expedition team took care of themselves and others in the team and followed a healthy diet regime. They are expected to return to City in the next few days. Another group of adventure lovers from Pune also scaled the base camp of Everest under the guidance of Rafiq.
The experience was challenging, and the trekkers demonstrated tenacity, perseverance, and indomitable will to reach their goal. The successful climb is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the amateur trekkers.
