This incident took place near wardkazi shendra MIDC last night around 10 pm. Deceased have identified as Dnyaneshwar Vishnu Jadhav and Anand Gaikwad (both residents of Naregaon)
According to details, It was learned that rickshaw driver Dnyaneshwar Jadhav was coming to the city from Warudkazi in his rickshaw (No. MH-20-EF-4447) carrying passengers Gaikwad. At around 10 pm, an Eicher truck was speeding towards Warudkazi village. The two vehicles collided head-on near Mandki's arch. In this incident, the rickshaw was crushed and the driver Jadhav and passenger Gaikwad were seriously injured and died on the spot.
According to passersby, the bodies of the autorickshaw driver and the passengers were smashed. Upon learning of the accident, Chikalthana police station ap Sharadchandra Rodge and his staff rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the Government Medical college and hospital Doctors at the casualty ward examined Jadhav and Gaikwad and declared them dead, said police.
Officials were conducting an inquiry into the incident till midnight. The vehicles involved in the accident were yet to be removed from the spot.
