Ownership of 5.6 Acre Properties Near Katkat Gate changed to Govt after Center's Order

What Happened 
Acting upon the orders of the of Central government, 5 acres 25 gunth1a of land situated in Katkat Gate to chelipura areas has been transferred in the name of the Central government on the official records as Enemy Property. 

Who was Owner
Revenue department sources said the property measuring several acres in Hattesinghpura, survey number 30/2, belonged to Mohammed Nazeemuddin and Mohammed Ahmeduddin, while the second property (215 sqmt) in Chelipura belonged to Sadiq Ali Abbasi.

Enemy Property Act
The properties of people leaving India for Pakistan. or other countries after the partition is considered as Enemy Property Six such properties are situated in Hattesinghpura and Chelipura areas. At the time of Partition, owners of these immovable assets had left the country.  After the introduction of the Enemy Property Act in 1968, these properties were declared as enemy property. 

PR Card Re-Generated
Sources said that the new property registration (PR)card has been prepared by the City Survey Office (CSO) and very soon the revenue department will update the title in the 7/12 document as well.

Ownership transferd
The addi tional chief secretary (revenue and forest) has issued a letter ordering the district collector to conduct a sur vey of enemy properties, demarcate and evaluate them. The properties haveto be transferred in the government records in the name of the Custodian of Enemy Property for India (CEPI).

Details of properties
As per the letter, the details of enemy properties situated in Hattesinghpura and Chelipura along with City Survey Numbers and sizes (mentioned in brack et) are as follows: CTS No. 11602/1 (6,861 square metres), CTS No. 11602/3, 4 and 5 (135 square metres. each) and CTS No. 11602/79 (1,590 square metres). 

Sudden Action? 
Two years ago, the district collector was ordered to take possession of these properties in one of the meetings by his superiors. The district collector Sunil Chavan then issued a letter to the concerned officials for further action. Acting upon the orders, the resident deputy collector (RDC) Shashikant Hadgal issued a letter to the CSO and ordered to implement the orders as per the union home ministry's letter issued in December 2021 and submit the report.

Action will be taken soon
The letter issued by Center, also asks to remove encroachment upon the properties and submit the action taken report to the government. the district administration will be taking action regarding the removal of encroach ment on 5.25 acres of land.
