Rising threat of Omicron in the city, restrictions being imposed. The youth still shows carelessness

Due to the rising threat of Omicron’s spread, vigilance has been practised around Aurangabad. Certain restrictions to be imposed from December 1. The AMC advises citizens to get themselves vaccinated before it's too late.

Passengers travelling by trains and airways are to be tested for Covid.Earlier, only the passengers of the Sachkhand Express were being tested, but, due to the negligence of the citizens, the Covid test has been made compulsory for everyone who behaves irresponsibly. Many young citizens are found behaving carelessly.

A team of AMC is actively doing the antigen and RTPCR tests on people from 9 AM to 9 PM. Antigen test of 70 passengers was conducted at the railway station from 9 am to 1 pm on Tuesday but no sign of Covid yet. Swab samples were taken from 15 people for RTPCR examination. Rishikesh Gavhane, Pradip Rathod, V. K. Malkar and others are working hard towards this. People are being fined for not wearing a mask.

Those arriving from Delhi and Hyderabad especially must present their immunization certificate. If they fail to do so, Covid tests become a must for them.

Certain restrictions have been imposed on the events to be held in the city, too. Some of them are:

  • Only 50% audience allowed at the theatres, cinema halls, Mangal karyalayas, auditoriums
