- Two people were arrested in RTO Aurangabad
On Thursday, RTO Aurangabad revealed how two vehicles were involved in issuing fake vaccination certificates, where the agents of RTO charged ₹200-₹600 for the edited certificates. Avinash Aghav, the crime branch inspector regarded, as a case has been registered in the Vedant Nagar Police Station.

Amid this, the Police have launched a crackdown and the vehicles have been identified with the accused; MH 20 U 3745; Sheikh Minajuddin Sheikh Ashkaquddin (r/o Silk mill colony) and MH 17 V 2759; Adnan Ullah Mujib Beg (r/o Beed By-Pass). Both of them were involved in selling 100+ fake certificates worth more than Rs. 20,000/- every day!
- What is actually happening
Getting fake vaccination certificates for around Rs.800 to 1000 is really becoming common in Aurangabad. According to information, many others charge around Rs.1500 to 2000 for a single vaccination certificate.
At such centres, you just have to register your details with Aadhar on both, the AMC register and the online portal but no need to take a jab. This thing is so dangerous that the system can't even trace it because they have a real registration on portals.
- Get a Fake certificate at home
According to talks in the city, it is found that, when AMC targeted such fake centres, it's become difficult now to get certificates in Aurangabad, so now, there are many agents in the city where they provide certificates from Jalna, Parbhani or other districts centres. You just have to provide your aadhar card and they will handle the job.
- Big question mark on running missionary
The vaccination probe instead of helping eradicate the virus has taken a different turn! People rather than taking advantage of the vaccination facilities are adversely taking undue advantage and harming the terms of the government. People are tarnishing portals of the Cowin app, no data of the vaccination is being kept, also no traces could be made. About the other centres, it is still not sure of how loyal and fair they are working.
- Tarnishing Cowin portal
There are many other incidents that have been reported, clearly proving to be a threat and violation of the norms. As per the reports, until the 8th of November, 55% of vaccinations took place in the city but currently, the percentage has risen to 80! This has been suspected so the AMC and the ZP are asked to report the exact digits. Due to the need for certification for availing basic necessities like petrol, cooking gas, ration etc, people are getting involved in tarnishing the vaccination probe, and creating fake certificates with their Adhaar card numbers and hacking the Cowin app administration.
- Cyber investigation started
District collector, Sunil Chavan has asked experts of NIC to look into the matter and consider the possibility of tampering with the Cowin app and assured the support of Cyber Police for investigation. He spoke of how all essential testing will be made for the protection of the app and for the people around.
- Another big Threat for the Administration
The app and vaccination are made a priority for the welfare of the people and for protecting us from the life-threatening virus, but such inhumane and illiterate acts by the citizens are a threat for everyone and are going to take it nowhere!
