The kidnapping of cats for rat hunting is becoming common these days. Attracting cats by throwing meat, grabbing them by their necks and putting the poor creature in a bag, has become a general thing! One such case got filed at the Mukundwadi Police Station. The complaint was lodged by a member of The Animal Cruelty Prevention Society.
Recently, Amol Chavan tipped Srinivas Nandlal Dhupad off, a member of the Animal Cruelty Prevention Society about two people walking around the area (Harshnagar) with a two-wheeler (TS07HS6298). Dhupad asked him to keep a keen eye and shortly after that, they caught hold of the culprits at the suspected spot.
Two men, Karunakar Shamsan Ganta (19) and Lokesh Shivayya Kata (19) are both residents of Shankarpalli, Rangareddy, Telangana and are currently the residents of Indewadi slum, Jalna. They were caught red-handed and a case has been filed at the mentioned PS after a complaint by Dhupad. The cat that they kidnapped was released. Sub-inspector Sandeep Wagh is doing further investigations.
The complaint was done to the Forest Department previously, but they refused to take any action for crime against domestic animals.
